Black Fury #20
Black Fury, the famous horse, is captured by Apache raiders while being transported across the desert with a wagon train carrying repeating rifles. In "The Trap," Frank Riemer, a drifter with a reputation tied to the Santa Fe Massacre, arrives in Dawson City seeking to collect money from Bruce Hall, claiming he needs payment to keep quiet about Hall's involvement in a brutal attack on the Hodges family wagon train years earlier. When Hall refuses to be blackmailed, Riemer reveals he came seeking Black Fury instead, and the narrative shifts to the desert where the horse is rescued by a Mexican named Juan, who offers Black Fury water and shelter while seeking passage through Apache territory.
