"The Magic Marker" features a man named Max who uses a magical marker to hide his lover Greta and her personal belongings in the Hindenburg. When a trained inspector's eye detects an oddly-shaped lipstick case, Max's deception is exposed. Realizing Greta has been using him to smuggle incriminating evidence against her as a spy, Max decides to keep a microfilm and expose the American authorities to their espionage plot. The issue also includes a backup story involving a pursuit where a figure in a red uniform chases someone scaling a wall, only for the climactic reveal that the escaping suspect cannot be stopped despite being unarmed and unharmed.
