"Death on Hoofs" features young Tom Benton on a ranch where he becomes obsessed with capturing a wild stallion named Wildfire that has killed four men. When Tom discovers Wildfire trapped in a barbed wire fence, he faces a moral choice between revenge and mercy, ultimately freeing the injured horse despite the danger and ridicule from other ranch hands.
