Bob Steele #7
Bob Steele #7 The main story features Bob Steele investigating a criminal gang led by a man named Bennett who operates from a runhouse hideout. Bob works with a character named Jim to track down the gang members and uncover their scheme, discovering cheating in gambling games at the hideout and learning that Bennett is paying for "real tough men" to handle a job. "Massacre Meadow" by Bradley Burke is a prose story about three white men disguised as Indians who plan to rob a wagon train of farmers heading to New City, targeting David Tolliver's wagon in particular because of the gold he carries, while Tolliver's brother Buddy serves as an outrider unaware of the danger. In the climactic sequence visible, Bob Steele confronts a criminal over a gold nugget found in the riverbed, with the villain claiming it belongs to two families and attempting to keep it from Bob.
