Boy Loves Girl #49

The issue contains two stories. In the first, a solitary writer discovers a young woman renting a room in his boarding house and realizes she might be the cure for his loneliness, though he struggles to express his feelings and she remains largely unaware of his affection. The second story, "Stubborn Hearts," depicts a couple, Chet and an unnamed woman, who quarrel bitterly after he proposes, with their disagreement centered on his selfishness and her desire for him to stay in one place rather than travel for work, ultimately leaving them parted in cold anger.
