Boy Meets Girl #5

In "Hotel Stenographer," a young woman named Laura becomes anxious when her boyfriend Ted invites her to the movies and dancing, as she worries he will spend all his time with her rather than pursue his own interests. Her mother advises her to play hard to get and be aloof to make boys feel they are chasing her. Laura takes this advice but nearly loses Ted as a result, until she abandons the strategy and agrees to go out with him, resolving to be herself and let him decide if he wants to pursue the relationship.
