This anthology issue contains three romance stories: "The Groom Said No," in which a man asks his fiancée Fran to quit her job to prove her love, leading to heartbreak and a separation; "My Broken Engagement," where a woman named (implied Jack's fiancée) recounts how Jack's mother's disapproval of her caused them to break their engagement, though they eventually reconcile when Jack gets a promotion; and "My Boyfriend Was Afraid of Love," featuring Wendy and Larry, whose relationship is tested when Larry enlists in the Army, but they reconcile after he convinces her to give their love a trial period to prove their bond can survive his military service.
