Broncho Bill v1 #5

Broncho Bill rescues a man from a lynch mob miles outside a settlement, then delivers him safely to the jailhouse. When the mob batters down the jail door, Broncho Bill pursues the fleeing prisoner, encountering a Native American chief named Big Elk and his warriors. Bill challenges Big Elk to single combat, defeats him, and negotiates a truce by proposing that the chief's warriors engage the white settlers in battle equal to their numbers. As the Sioux and whites fight in a valley below, Bill uses the distraction to escape with his captive.
