After a man named Carlson is murdered, relatives gather to hear the reading of the will, which stipulates that whoever solves a cryptic riddle—"What I find, I throw away; what I cannot find, I keep"—will inherit the entire estate. Buster must navigate suspects and deception to catch the murderer, ultimately discovering that counterfeit money and a bag of money switching scheme involving criminals known as the Owlhoots are central to the crime.
