Candy encounters her father on a fishing boat where he offers to teach her proper fishing technique, and later at the Sweet Shoppe she notices creepers following her. A scheming character recruits three girls for a dance program, planning to smuggle them away, but Lance helps Candy outwit the plot. Later, Candy's friend Miss Traynor learns that her fiancé Mr. Bixby has been more interested in studying astronomy and heavenly bodies than in their engagement, prompting Miss Traynor to give Candy an astronomy book to read so she can impress him by discussing the subject.
