Candy #16

Candy is an anthology issue containing multiple stories. In one story, Candy's father nearly discovers her secret plan to elope with Ted when a neighbor reveals the truth, but Ted is actually just fixing the family shutter, and the misunderstanding is resolved when a ladder accident strikes down Miss Tellall, the town gossip. In another story, Candy uses a personality-testing gadget at a carnival to win a date, then uses magic mirrors and other tricks to arrange multiple dates for herself and her friend Joe. A final story shows Candy juggling romantic complications when she promises dates to both Ted and Joe while also being set up by friends Cornelia and Golly with other suitors, leading to various romantic mix-ups involving library dates and last-minute substitutions.
