Candy discovers her friend Trixie has lost a valuable diamond ring and helps her search for it by posting a notice in the school corridor with Candy's phone number. The story then shifts to Candy and her friend encountering an elderly stunt man named Mr. Bragg who was once known as "Birdboy," a daredevil performer, and they convince him to perform in a school show. When Mr. Bragg agrees to do a dangerous loop-the-loop stunt in a vintage airplane, he becomes dizzy during the maneuver and the pilot must help him recover. After the successful performance, Candy later attends an audition for a theatrical production where she performs a scene opposite a man named Ted, but complications arise when Ted's ex-girlfriend Ashley Hartburn appears and claims Ted had already promised to take her to the prom. The issue concludes with Candy and friends encountering Ted at a perfume shop called Madame Dewberry, where they discuss ways to resolve the romantic triangle.
