Captain Midnight #51

In the main Captain Midnight story "Defies Disaster in the Skyworld," a pilot named Pete is criticized by Captain Midnight for damaging too many planes through reckless flying, leading to a heated confrontation about the expense of replacing aircraft. When Pete crashes again during a subsequent flight, Captain Midnight initially suspects sabotage but discovers the propeller was undamaged. The issue also includes a "Pilot Pete" instructional feature on airplane safety, a sports quiz, and an advertisement for "The Adventures of Sam Spade" radio program in which a detective uses a cream-oil clue to identify a murderer by finding a well-groomed suspect with dandruff on his collar.
