This issue contains three Western stories. In the lead story, the Cheyenne Kid rides the dangerous trail seeking blazing six-gun action and encounters a conflict involving a white chief named Big Ears and a fair Indian maiden, climaxing in a battle where the Kid defeats Big Ears in combat and the chief throws a peace party to honor Taquona rather than wage war. "Tenderfoot" follows Mr. Smedley, a Boston investment representative sent to inspect a cattle ranch, who falls into the hands of the tough cook Jagg Romer; the Cheyenne Kid rescues him by lassoing Romer and defeating him. In the third story, the Cheyenne Kid hears gunshots three miles away and returns to find that a bushwhacker has slugged his horse; pursuing the attacker, the Kid discovers a renegade named Shigo was responsible and reports the incident to the fort colonel.
