In "Challenge to the Chief," the Cheyenne Kid faces off against a Native American war chief and his warriors after hearing a horse nicker that signals danger approaching. When the chief's men attempt to kill him, an angry wolf is driven through the chief's forces, causing the Comanche war chief to call off the attack rather than shed more blood. The Cheyenne Kid then becomes locked in a building with an outlaw named Strykker, using his wits to escape by fashioning a key from paper and manipulating it through the door lock to retrieve the actual key from the other side.
