Hap Hopper, a Washington correspondent, becomes entangled in a scheme involving a bullet-proof metal developed by an inventor named Little John. A tycoon named Tycoon seeks to acquire the metal and its formula, holding Little John captive at his hunting lodge while attempting to force him to reveal how to manufacture it. Hap and his associate work to rescue Little John and prevent Tycoon from monopolizing the invention, with the story culminating in a confrontation at the lodge where Hap manages to escape with Little John despite Tycoon's threats and the sheriff's involvement in the area.
