Creepy Worlds #138 Captain Atom battles Dr. Spectro, the diabolical Master of Moods, after enemy agents spot incoming imps on radar heading toward a science center. Captain Atom must retrieve a safe containing rare elements before Dr. Spectro's five-faced operatives can use them to power a machine designed to merge their consciousnesses with his own and give him control over all emotions. When Captain Atom's weapon accidentally damages the machine during the confrontation, the resulting sabotage prevents Dr. Spectro from achieving his plan of world domination.
