"Road Pirates" tells of ruthless criminals operating a truck loaded with killers on a deadly highway mission, engaging in violent confrontations with other vehicles. The story follows a crime boss named Al Fendrick, a longtime racketeer whose compulsive urge to commit robbery—stemming from a traumatic incident twenty years prior—has been triggered by discovering a corpse and finding match-books in his pocket. When a sheriff pursues Fendrick to a house he is using as a hideout, the confrontation reveals a connection to an old crime: the sheriff had used the building as a wage house for narcotics years ago, and the body inside is linked to a man named Donovan from that era.
