This issue presents two main true crime stories. "Henry Darpis: Public Enemy No. 1 (1931-1935)" chronicles the crimes of Henry "Old Creepy" Darpis, a marble-shooting champion turned criminal who committed murder, kidnapping, and robbery across Kansas and Missouri before his capture. "Wrong Way Out" depicts two prison inmates, Tom Brady and Jack, planning an escape from a large penitentiary warehouse by attempting to obtain a knife or sharp object to overpower a guard, though they discover the warden's metal detection machines make their plan impossible. A third story, "Crime and Punishment," shows Pete Blair and Roy Thorn collaborating with gamblers to rig a horse race, with complications arising when a mechanic named Freddie Hendricks becomes involved in their scheme.
