Crime and Punishment #49
A con artist named Ralph targets newly widowed women by posing as a friend of their late husbands, gaining their trust to extract money under false pretenses. When Mrs. Buckley becomes suspicious after Ralph requests funds, she alerts the police, who set up a sting operation at her home. Officer Murray arrests Ralph after catching him in the act, recovering the stolen money and stopping his scheme. The issue also contains a secondary story illustrated in comic form depicting a police officer investigating a murder at what appears to be a pharmacy or chemical storage location.
