Crime Detective Comics #8

Two crooks, "Muddles" and a partner, devise a scheme to hide stolen money in a restaurant box and retrieve it later, but their plan is complicated when they encounter each other during a rushed lunch hour and must coordinate their getaway. When they attempt to escape that night with the cash, they are trapped on a locked rooftop where they discover Walter, a restaurant employee, has betrayed them to a mysterious figure known as "the Cat," a legendary burglar. The Cat pursues them through the city and down to the waterfront, where a violent confrontation ensues; Palmer, another criminal, ends up in the water and is rescued by police, while the Cat flees and warns Palmer never to cross him again, demanding he stay silent to avoid further involvement.
