Crime Detective Comics v1 #4

Crime Detective Comics #4 is an anthology of crime and detective stories. One featured story depicts criminals executing an elaborate scheme to break into a safe by using a "black tarp" to obscure their work from outside view, cutting through the safe's lock, and later widening their operations to target additional safes, until their plans unravel when someone attempts to commit arson against a man named Mr. Harris, leading to police investigation and the criminal's downfall. Another story, "The Stolen Ship," follows two men at a Scottish dock who plan to charter the merchant vessel S.S. Ferret, securing permission from the dockmaster by providing false references, in what appears to be the beginning of a scheme to steal the ship.
