Crime Detective Comics v1 #5

Crime Detective Comics #5 is an anthology featuring at least two stories. The first story involves Kelly, who in spring 1872 contracted to supply 90 men to man three ships, and later throws a birthday party celebrating the departure of the S-Saigon Clipper toward the Golden Gate with sailors and crew. "The Wise Beast of Gevaudan: A True Story" recounts a French forest hunt where a group of hunters track a wolf with husky cubs; when all wolves are destroyed except one that escapes by licking the boots of the hunting party's leader, a character considers taking the surviving wolf to his castle to raise it.
