Crime Detective Comics v2 #8 This anthology issue contains at least two stories. In "Muddles," two con men devise a scheme to steal money by hiding it in a restaurant box and retrieving it later, but their plan goes awry when they become trapped in a gas chamber, forcing them to abandon their scheme and flee. In a second story featuring "Cat" Palmer, a burglar known as "the Cat" is hired to steal a package, but after discovering Walter, a servant, is also involved in the crime, Palmer must confront him in a wine cellar; meanwhile, Ralph apprehends Palmer, and the criminal attempts to escape by jumping into the water, but is captured by police as he tries to flee. A third story involves "Cat" Palmer being threatened by criminals on shore, leading to a violent confrontation where Palmer shoots a man named Nelson; police arrive and arrest Palmer despite his claims of self-defense.
