Crime Does Not Pay #121
The main story follows the criminal career of Irving "Waxey" Gordon, a hoodlum bootlegger who operates an illegal operation with associates and attempts to evade police capture. On March 3, 1940, Gordon and his gang are caught in a police raid on their hideout, though they initially escape; however, their associate Arnie is arrested and becomes a liability to the operation. Gordon and his associate Duke then attempt a bank heist on March 29th, but police close in during the robbery, leading to a shootout where Gordon is ultimately captured and forced to surrender, demonstrating that crime does not pay.
