The issue contains two stories. The first, illustrated in color, depicts a criminal named Danny who wears glasses to hide his identity and commits various crimes including armed robbery; when he is caught and imprisoned, the story shifts to focus on Danny's boss, a man named Monroe involved in racketeering, who is ultimately murdered by his wife Moli-Haci after she discovers his infidelities and criminal nature. The second story, presented in text with illustrations, follows Detective George Dunphy's years-long investigation into the murder of Detective John Garvey, which ultimately leads to the identification and conviction of Joe Sonsky, who is executed in 1943, demonstrating that crime does not pay.
