Crime Does Not Pay #52
This issue contains two crime stories. The first, "The Pacheco Brothers," follows the murder of a woman by three G-men criminals who board a train at Webster Grove; when one of them, Durkin, is struck and killed by the train itself, an angry mob forms and captures the two surviving Pacheco Brothers, who are convicted of first-degree murder and executed in Colorado's lethal gas chamber. The second story details "Baby Face" Dillinger's bank robbery career, showing how he and his associates robbed a savings bank after a tip-off, then attempted to flee with their stolen money while being pursued by law enforcement, ultimately leading to Dillinger joining a mob and deciding to flee with his wife to Little Bohemia in northern Wisconsin.
