Crime Does Not Pay #89
This issue contains two crime stories. "The Escort Murder Case" follows private eye Chip Gardner as he investigates a murder involving escorts and criminal elements. "On the Level," drawn by C.H. Moore, presents multiple short true-crime vignettes including the arrest of Bruce Turner of Georgia for attempting to cash a retired railroader's check, the capture of a burglar who robbed Doris Logan's Chicago apartment after she recognized him as an old schoolmate, and the arrest of Steve Wright of New York for renting a car and driving it backwards to manipulate the mileage indicator for insurance fraud, among other criminal cases demonstrating that crime does not pay.
