This anthology issue contains two separate crime stories. The first story depicts smugglers attempting to transport heroin via speedboat, evading the Coast Guard before being intercepted during their operation. The second story follows Red Carroll's initiation into the loan shark business, which quickly escalates when he and his associates, including Jeff Bixby and others, resort to armed robbery and murder; the criminals are eventually identified and hunted down by police after a series of killings on the highway, with the law closing in on the perpetrators within twenty-four hours.
