Crime Must Pay the Penalty #40
"Mark of the Killer Hand" recounts the 1945 police case of the criminal known as "Blackie" Moran, a hoodlum whose reign of terror included a brutal East Side bank robbery during business hours in which a typewriter-wielding accomplice sprayed customers with gunfire. When bank guard "Pop" Brady struck a decisive blow to Blackie's face, it ended the vicious slaughter and led to the gangster's eventual capture. The story follows the police investigation of the robbery, a traffic jam caused by the criminals' escape attempt, and subsequent interrogations that ultimately brought the infamous criminal to justice.
