Crime Must Pay the Penalty #44

A criminal named Vaughan partners with a gang leader called "Baby" to run a bootlegging operation, initially transporting illegal alcohol across state lines. When Vaughan attempts to go straight and distance himself from the racket, Baby forces him to commit murder to maintain control over him. An inspector investigating stolen license plates traces the crime back to Vaughan and "Baby," uncovering the connection to a murdered boy whose parents become witnesses, ultimately leading to the criminals' capture and downfall.
