An anthology issue containing two stories. In the first, young Dave O'Brien works as a miner's helper, digging in a river bottom, when he discovers an unconscious man and is recruited by the FBI for a dangerous assignment involving uranium and atomic energy. In the second story, "Speed Demon," a boastful racing driver named Bill Graff is taken on by the military and assigned to work with a fire control officer under the command of Miss Sheila Stewart, a brilliant agent who will direct him through dangerous missions involving atomic weapons and lithium bars that control nuclear energy.
