Dark Mysteries #11
"The River of Blood" tells the story of two partners, Hal and Kenny, who become rivals when a woman named Rita enters their lives. Kenny, consumed by jealousy, devises an evil plan to murder Rita and frame Hal, intending to lose the happy couple so he can claim Rita for himself; however, his scheme goes awry. The narrative then shifts to a separate tale involving Picard, a man caught in revolutionary turmoil, who becomes entangled with Madame Reclas and falls victim to Maurin's plot, leading to his demise at a public execution. A third story follows Clyde, a factory worker who elopes with his bride Elaine against her father's wishes; when Clyde's father-in-law Walter Forbes goes missing and is presumed dead, Clyde becomes the manager of the factory, but dark suspicions arise about whether Clyde may have caused Forbes's disappearance to advance his position.
