Professor Cargraves leads a rocket expedition to the moon after the government denies their initial request due to fears of atomic explosion. The crew—including Jim Barnes, Joe Sweeney, and General appointments—launches at dawn and successfully reaches the lunar surface, where they become the first humans to set foot on the moon. They conduct observations of the barren moonscape, contact Earth by radio to report their triumph, and prepare to document their historic achievement with photographs before returning home.
