Dick Cole #7

Dick Cole uncovers a gang of criminals operating near a lake and must rescue his friend Simba, who has been captured. After a harrowing confrontation with the gangsters, Dick and Simba escape, but their troubles intensify when they become entangled with a group of armed men planning violence. The issue also features a backup story involving Colonel Fetterman and a historical narrative about military conflict during westward expansion, including references to Custer's Last Stand. A separate sequence depicts Dick competing in a winter sporting event where he must navigate a treacherous ice course while racing against rivals, barely avoiding disaster when a crevasse opens beneath him.
