Don Winslow investigates "The Stolen Battleship Mystery" after a Navy supply ship is sunk and reports surface of enemy activity. Working with Lieutenant Red Pennington, Winslow uncovers a plot involving a spy signaling from the coast and an invisible submarine relaying naval data. Don and Red disguise themselves in khaki uniforms delivered from a supply ship to infiltrate the enemy operation and stop the threat. In a separate adventure titled "The Hidden Jap Air Base," Don Winslow prepares to lead a scouting party from a South Pacific Navy base to locate a secret Japanese air base hidden on a jungle island in the Solomon Islands.
