Don Winslow of the Navy #66

The Great Solar Mystery Don Winslow and Red encounter a devastating storm while piloting an aircraft, forcing them to climb above it to survive, only to discover their instruments are spinning wildly due to an unknown magnetic force pulling them into space. They crash-land on a strange planet where Venusian guards capture them and reveal plans to attack Earth with an H-bomb within twenty minutes, stating that Don and Red are now prisoners facing certain death. Don manages to disconnect his interpreter and signal Red, allowing them to devise an escape plan from the alien palace dungeons, while the fate of Earth hangs in the balance as the countdown to destruction begins.
