Down with Crime #7

"The Payoff" follows gangster Knobby Peters as he returns to his old haunts and attempts to extort money from District Attorney Red Dopper by threatening to reveal films compromising Dopper's past. When Peters tries to blackmail Dopper with copies of incriminating films, Dopper exposes the scheme and has Peters arrested. The story culminates in a raid on a sugar warehouse where Peters and his gang are caught hiding stolen goods, leading to their capture by authorities.
