The issue features two main stories. In "Terror Tubes," Ken King navigates a dangerous plastic tube stunt at a drag strip, struggling to maintain proper speed through the course. In the bonus story "Playin' the Role!," two hot-rodders—Rocky Serrano and Fletcher Hayes—race illegally on a closed mountain road when a state highway is shut down for bridge reconstruction, with one driver piloting a Plymouth and the other a Fletcher 427 Cube engine vehicle. A third story follows Ken King as he pursues a deal to build a hot rod from a 1923 Ford roadster he discovers on a farm, eventually acquiring the vehicle with help from a fellow enthusiast named Artie.
