This issue features "Slow Joe, the Thinker," a story about Joe Ryland, an unconventional mechanic who prefers thinking over working quickly, who builds a hot rod with a 390-horsepower, 3000-pound engine. When challenged to race by a rival driver on a private road, Joe's car unexpectedly performs poorly until he realizes the other driver has sabotaged it; after discovering and fixing the damage, Joe wins the race and proves his worth. The issue also advertises two additional stories: "The Fastest Toy in Town" and "The Deuce Is High."
