In colonial times, Dan Brand and his Native American companion Tipi blaze trails of adventure across the American wilderness as intrepid pioneers. When Dan encounters his old enemy Peter Bradford at a Philadelphia wedding in 1770, Bradford attempts to murder Dan's sweetheart Lucy Wharton. After a desperate chase, Dan is pursued into the backwoods where he battles a massive bear, is rescued by Chief Great Deer and his tribe, and ultimately confronts Bradford in a final struggle that leaves Dan victorious but exhausted from his ordeal.
