This issue contains multiple stories. "Homicide Handicap" follows detective Julian Cross as he investigates the murder of an old man named Pop Quigley, discovering that a man named Radcliff killed him during a robbery after running him down with a car—a crime Radcliff initially made appear accidental until Cross identifies him through the victim's dying testimony. In a separate story, Joe and his boss discover a secret door in their building that leads to the lair of villains who possess a mystical stone idol with glowing eyes; the heroes, including a character called Daisy in red, must battle against these criminals and their control of the powerful artifact.
