The Black Terror battles to prevent the tyrannical Targala from ruling the Eagle Nation by destroying an idol of Esh-Kar that grants the villain supernatural power, with warriors of Arohiti making a final stand to aid in the statue's destruction. In a separate adventure, Peter Ward and the British Foreign Office become entangled in a mystery involving an Egyptian mummy that comes to life, Grant Mannering's twenty-year disappearance, and suspicious deaths linked to sabotage at the Krishna Dam, leading them to investigate whether the mummies themselves are responsible for the violence.
