This issue contains at least two stories. "Curse or Coincidence" follows a stranger who arrives at Ben Caron's mountain lodge and warns of a curse, claiming that those who allow him to stay will face disaster—a prophecy that proves tragically accurate when a giant octopus-like creature emerges and kills several people. In a second story, a traveling man named Anson Hawks arrives at an English manor that has been transplanted to America, where he becomes entangled in a family curse involving a large serpentine creature that strangles Mrs. Sandford to death, with Hawks suspected of the murder.
