Fargo Kid #3
This issue contains two stories. "First Photographer" recounts the historical 1853 expedition of daguerreotypist Solomon N. Carvalho, who accompanied Colonel John C. Frémont across the western mountains near the 38th parallel to document the dangerous journey through brutal winter conditions, treacherous terrain, and crossing the Colorado River, with Carvalho ultimately producing remarkable daguerreotypes despite the expedition's severe hardships. The second story, featuring the Fargo Kid, depicts the Kid and a companion encountering Indians while traveling through a valley; warned to avoid attention from a nearby Indian camp, they attempt to escape but face pursuit when the Indians discover their presence.
