Fight for Love #1

The issue features the loves and trials of Becky and Slats from the newspaper feature "Abbie and Slats." In one storyline, a woman rescues an injured man in the woods, but he is taken away by another woman who claims him, leaving the rescuer devastated. Jennie attends her first dance and is walked home by Mr. Curwood, a man named Zane, who becomes enamored with her, though her mother Kate worries about the encounter. In another segment, a man named Sonny travels to Niagara Falls but must leave his dog Pete behind, unable to bear the separation.
