Fightin' Air Force #17
The issue contains two stories. "Too Low—Too Slow!" depicts Lieutenant Rawlins flying a Texas-throttled Sabre jet that is stripped of rockets to increase speed, making it too fast for conventional tactics until he is reassigned to the Drifter Squadron to fly slower Sabre jets and fight red tanks. "Unknown to the Elated Pilot" recounts how captured German pilot Tony Fokker had earned a reputation for flying a new fighter plane that could outmaneuver and outclimb any fighter in the world, leading Jerry Plane to volunteer to take on the new German fighter, which results in a dogfight between the new German fighter and Allen's aircraft where the German is defeated.
