An Air Force officer is interrogated by enemy captors who attempt to brainwash him into confessing secrets about atomic bombs and his nation's capital. The captive endures an intense psychological assault involving hours of questioning and threats, but resists divulging information. Eventually released for a brief rest, he plots his escape while his captors prepare to resume their interrogation and demand his cooperation.
