Fightin' Air Force #30
This is an anthology issue featuring two main stories. "The Guardian" tells of a desk pilot named Lt. Braden who, despite having only split seconds to act during combat situations, must destroy enemy planes threatening southern cities; after losing fourteen pilots under his command during World War II, Braden insists on safe flying practices. "Desk Pilot" depicts Colonel Carr, a hot-headed pilot in Europe during World War II, whose reckless flying results in the loss of many pilots, but who eventually learns the importance of safe flying tactics after his insistence on bravery costs the lives of subordinates.
