Fightin' Air Force #42

This is an anthology issue containing two stories. The lead story depicts an Air Force pilot who, after exceeding Mach 2 during a level-flight intercept, must convince his skeptical Uncle George that well-designed modern aircraft are more economical than older military structures. In the second story, "Pappy's Kids," a pilot named "Daddio" recounts his experiences as a young flight officer in Europe during 1945, where he was responsible for keeping his fellow pilots alive during missions in Korea, and describes a harrowing parachute jump and crash landing where he broke his sabre attempting to save his wounded wingman Jacoby.
